Designer Spotlight:

In August of last year, we premiere this amazing fashion designer Jason Santiago who was one of the lucky winners from MTV and Sean John’s: Internship by Design contest. Well as we mention in the last article to keep a eye on him, today he is currently styling a new group who go by “D’ ARTIS”. On February 3rd, “D’ARTIS” debuts on BET Monique show at 11pm, make sure you tune in Jason designed the group fly outfits.

The film is a sequel to the 1987 Academy Award-winning film Wall Street, and the first sequel Stone has directed. Michael Douglas will reprise his role as Gordon Gekko in the film. The film will also star Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Ferlito and Frank Langella in supporting roles.

Set in New York City, the film takes place 23 years after the original, revolving around the 2008 stock market crash. The film’s plot mainly centers around Gekko acting as more of an anti-hero rather than a villain and follows his attempts to help Wall Street before its soon-to-be stock market crash as well as trying to repair his relationship with his daughter Winnie with the help of Jacob, Winnie’s fiance. In return, Gekko helps Jacob get revenge on the man he blames for his mentor’s death.

Director/Filmmaker Philip Bloom presents his latest work, a time-lapse video entitled Sky. The beautifully produced piece was filmed in Dubai, over a 5 day/night period, offering another captivating film from Bloom, who made the film in memory of Sky Vassar. Sky Vassar was an eight grader at desert ridge middle school and just recently was suffering from appendicitis. She passed away on January 15, 2010 due to a problem in surgery.
