Throwback Thursday: Legendary Sound

This is a Hip-Hop/R&B record producer, known for production work for late 80′s artists such as Big Daddy Kane, but most notable for his affiliation with Bad Boy Records in its early years and his heavy production involvement in The Notorious B.I.G.’s acclaimed debut Ready to Die.

Mo Bee began producing after hearing music by Ced Gee of Ultramagnetic MCs and Marley Marl, producer of early hip-hop hits for the likes of the Juice Crew and LL Cool J. His first production placement came on Big Daddy Kane’s breakthrough album, It’s a Big Daddy Thing, after which he was approached to work with another Cold Chillin’ artist, The Genius–an early alias for now-Wu-Tang Clan co-founder GZA. Jazz pioneer Miles Davis approached the young producer to help fuse Jazz and Hip-Hop. These sessions would become his last album, 1992′s Doo Bop. The project, released posthumously after Davis died during the recording process, leaving the project unfinished, generally garnered reviews. Easy Mo Bee’ influence on Hip Hop and any up coming producer can be heard when you hear Heavy Baselines, Jazz inspired chords or Melodies. I was honored to be choosen to do Beat Battle’s in NYC and he was a judge on the Panel one time, my nerves was screaming with anticipation to get his feedback if from no one else. He actually gave me real advice and the thumbs Up, then even talked to me after the event. It’s certain legends in this game that when they applaud your talent and skill it just gives you that extra Nuclear power to keep shining bright for all to See… Peace & Blessings!

To get an idea on how influential this Man is check his credentials:

Call her Friday Foster, Foxy Brown, or even Sheba and your talking about Pam Grier! The Archetype for strength, sexiness, support, and conscience! Especially in the beginnings of Blaxploitation films that not always had a positive role model for young black girls growing up in those days. Pam Grier is a native born in Winston-Salem, NC due to her father’s military career, her family moved frequently during her childhood, to various places such as England, and eventually settled in Denver, Colorado, where she attended East High School. Whether in a Cowboys, Falcons, 49′s or Redskins jersey “PRIMETIME” Deon Sanders have forever left his swagger and presence in the world of sports! Sanders is considered one of the most versatile athletes in sporting history because he played two sports at multiple positions. In the NFL, he played primarily at cornerback, but also occasionally as a wide receiver, kick returner, and punt returner. Deion Sanders will often be remembered for sporting his famous “do-rag or bandana” and for his “High-Stepping” into the end zone followed by his touchdown dance celebrations. At the same time, Sanders will also be remembered for being one of the most visible and outspoken football players to ever take the field due to his alter-ego, Prime Time. In baseball, he played for the New York Yankees, the Atlanta Braves, the Cincinnati Reds, and the San Francisco Giants. He attended Florida State University, where he excelled at both football and baseball.

With his style and flash NIKE had to create a shoe that embodies All of “Neon Deon” or “PRIMETIME”! So in 93 this was what they presented the world with the NIKE Diamond Turf. This particular Air Diamond Turf was Deion’s first signature shoe with Nike back in 1993. Nike retro’d the Air Diamond Turf for the first time in 2004, and those that missed out will soon have another shot come Fall 2010. No word on if they will retro the other two OG colorways.

“Throwback Thursdays” – “88″

When you talk about Original Gangsters / Pioneers of the street life in the west, and Hip Hop in the west. ICE-T is hands down a major contributor to that whole image/swagger as we know the West is known for. Like Afrika Bambatta on the East Coast this was his way of turning the Poverty, Pain, and struggles in the wild west to a positive for himself and his communities. The featured single off this album was”I’m Your Pusher” with a sample from CurtisMayfield -”Pusherman”. The song’s anti-drug theme was interpreted as having the opposite message, possibly as a result of misinterpretation of the context of the title, and ignorance as to the actual lyrical content.

No Matter what coast you lived on or whether you was a Dope Boy, B-Boy, Play Boy or Bomber you had all the colors in these Throwback Adidas. We sport’in the White & Blue Stripes!

The year is 1996 and boy was it a wonderful year for sneaker heads because Nike released a mainstream classic with the “Air Jordan Concord 11’s”, Which are by far one of the most loved Mikes in history. But this year also was the year Rebook released a pair of kicks I would die to add to my collection the “Air Kamikaze” worn by the reign man himself Shawn Kemp. These joints are both super classic and I am seriously in love with them (lol). OH yea I’m getting lost in these kicks I almost forgot a song. Since I gave you two great sneakers I have no choice but to give you two great songs, 1st Song is “Tha Crossroads“ By Bone-Thugs n Harmony I love that song! The other song is “Hey Lover” by LL Cool J, there are a million other hot joints I could of went with for 1996 but Joe said go with LL so I gave the OK. Suggestions anyone? What’s up Ya’ll, its your boy Biz back for the new installment of “Throw Back Thursday”. This week I decided to use 1997 as the “Year” and the Sneaker I went with is seriously a classic to me the Black and Silver Nike Air Total Max Uptempo’s. The same joints that are out in black and Green. These are joints that a lot of Sneaker heads will go crazy for. These are being Retro’d this year spring 2010 and the song I’ve decided to pick …isn’t a Hip-Hop joint it is “You Make Me Wanna” by Usher. I was feeling them since these are some smooth kicks, I had no choice but to choose a smooth record do you agree? Feel Free to send me suggestions for next week. See you next “Throw Back Thursday”.
